Tablet computers are have been around for some time but never go nearly as much attention as they are in 2010. The main reason for attention is the newer slimmer and sleeker designs that get rid of physical keyboards. With all that has been see so far in 2010 the industry really has nowhere to go but up.
The concept behind the tablet started being dreamed up back in the late 1800's but only started becoming a reality in mid-1900's. Now in 2010 all those dreams are starting to finally be realized thanks to the large leaps in technology. The tablet product has to go to the Apple iPad which was launched in mid-Summer of 2010.

Now the question is what is the tablets future looking like as a portable PC? Well as of 2009 the only alternative if you were seeking a portable PC was to get a netbook, netbook's are mini-laptops with a 10.1" display size. In 2010 news of tablets finally being ready for public release started to show themselves but the netbook market didn't just go away actually it saw a big increase in sales.
Tablets as they are now are available in Windows, Android and Mac versions. The future holds more available tablet in the three different sub-categories, that's for sure. Some tablets to keep your eye out for in the near future are the Notion Ink Adam Tablet, ASUS Eee Pad EP101TC & EP121, Samsung Tab, MSI WindPad 100 and HP's yet to be named WebOS tablet.
