LG's latest introduction to their impressive line up of mobile phones come in the from of the new Optimus 7, a phone that not only looks great but is also extremely functional thanks to the excellent Windows 7 OS.
The Optimus 7 boasts a high quality screen that rivals some of the very best currently available. At 3.8 inches, the display is fairly average for a modern smartphone in terms of size, but with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, the resulting images are extremely well defined and also full of colour thanks to the unit being able to display a massive 16 million of them. The screen is TFT rather than AMOLED, but you would be forgiven for thinking that it was the latter thanks to the great quality on view. The touch sensitive panel works using the capacitive method, regarded as being more responsive and user friendly than other resistive screens. Take a look below the screen any you will find the three buttons that all Windows 7 handsets boast. On the Optimus 7 the manufacturers have opted for these to be physical keys rather than touch sensitive buttons. With regards to looks and design, there is no denying that this phone is a great looking model. Media features are plentiful on the LG Optimus 7, with plenty of variety in terms of audio, video and photography. If you are looking for a handset with great video capture, then this model ticks all the boxes with high definition 720P filming. Footage is captured at a rate of 24 frames per second. There is no micro SD card slot on this, or any other Windows 7 handset, however the phone does have 16GB of its own storage which should be ample for all but the most extreme users. Still photography is well catered for thanks to the 5 million pixel camera the handset is fitted with. An LED flash is always a useful feature to have, and the autofocus really does save time, allowing you to genuinely capture the moment. Multiple Audio files can be handled by the phone, including MP3, eAAC+ and WAV. A stereo FM tuner allows you to tune into your favourite radio station, and the early mentioned headphone jack gives you a practically endless choice of headphones to use with the phone.
The Optimus 7 should prove a great success for LG. It is a handset that not only performs admirably, but also looks great and boasts a stunning array of features.
